DAY 1: ANTANANARIVO - ANKARAFANTSIKA
Departure around 7 am towards Mahajanga. Dry and arid landscape until Mahatsinjo. The heat begins to be felt from Maevatanana. We will make a stop in this city known for its basements rich in gold. Along the way, do not miss the suspension bridge and the impressive Betsiboka River Falls. In the late afternoon, stop at the National Park Ankarafantsika. Night at the hotel.
DAY 2: ANKARAFANTSIKA NATIONAL PARK
Known for its many lakes as well as its dense and dry forests, the Ankarafantsika National Park is one of the most beautiful parks on the Big Island. It is home to endemic species of lemurs and rare bird species. On the agenda for this day, walk through the park in the morning and excursion on the lake in the afternoon to observe the birds. Return to the hotel
DAY 3: ANKARAFANTSIKA – ANTSOHIHY
After lunch, we continue the journey through the National 6 which started at Ambondromamy. Next stop, Antsohihy, step city before the Ankarana National Park. To discover along the way, the Sofia Bridge, the largest and longest bridge on the Big Island, spanning the river bearing the same name. Arrival at Antsohihy scheduled early afternoon. A visit to this town known for its chrome mines is on the program. Night at the hotel.
DAY 4 and DAY 5: ANTSOHIHY - ANKARANA
After a night of rest, we take the road towards Ankarana National Park, located a good hundred kilometers southwest of Diégo-Suarez. To see along the way, Ambanja and its plantations of coffee or cocoa, then Ambilobe and its plantations of sugar cane. Night at the hotel.
DAY 6: ANKARANA NATIONAL PARK
Stretching over 35 kilometers long, the Ankarana National Park is characterized by its landscape consisting of a spectacular Tsingy expanse. Allow an hour of time to visit for example the caves and about 4 hours for the Tsingy. Many canyons covered with forests, underground rivers and caves run through it. Its faunistic and floristic richness is impressive. You may encounter a crowned maki or a brown mouse and a multitude of reptiles and amphibians. Return to the hotel.
DAY 7: THE RED TSINGY
This day will be dedicated to the visit of the Red Tsingy nestled in the small village of Irodo. Get ready for a new experience. This natural phenomenon consists of sandstone, limestone and marl with different colors ranging from yellow to red ocher. Laterite rich in iron oxide gives it its red color. This place is surreal and plunges us into a colorful and wild universe but oh so exotic. This step is a must during a trip to Madagascar. Return to the hotel.
JOUR 10: Diego Suarez

baie dominée par son très beau pain de sucre. Diégo ou Antsiranana en malgache, est une ville plus cosmopolite. Vous découvrirez pendant votre balade
en ville son riche passé colonial à travers les comptoirs à colonnades et les vieilles maisons d’époque, ainsi que son grand marché et la place du
Maréchal Joffre. Dîner et nuit à l’hôtel.
DAY 8: ANKARANA – JOFFREVILLE
After lunch, we leave Ankarana to reach Joffreville. This is a 100-kilometer leg that can be done in 3 hours 30 minutes. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 9: JOFFREVILLE - THE MONTAGNE D'AMBRE
The entrance to La Montagne d’Ambre Nature Park is located on the heights of Joffreville. This place is a real biological treasure. Its protected and preserved tropical forest where evolves a unique and complex fauna and flora will completely seduce the nature lovers. While browsing the site, you will appreciate various species of rare plants and perhaps meet the smallest chameleon in the world. Admire the endemic lemur species that populate the site. And for a refreshing break, do not miss the waterfall of Antomboka, the waterfall Antakarana or that of Mahasarika. At the end of this walk, we immediately take the road towards Diégo Suarez. This stage of 30 kilometers is cordoned off in one hour of time. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 10: DIEGO SUAREZ
After breakfast, visit the city of Diego Suarez, capital of the north, third port of the island of Madagascar and famous for its beautiful bay dominated by its beautiful sugar loaf. Diégo or Antsiranana in Malagasy, is a more cosmopolitan city. You will discover during your walk in town its rich colonial past through the colonnade counters and old houses of time, as well as its large market and the place of Marshal Joffre. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 11: EXCURSION IN THE 3 BAYS
The Bay of Dunes, Sakalava Bay, the Bay of Pigeons seduce the tourists with their wild beauty, their beaches of white sand and the turquoise sea. The first of these, the bay of the Dunes, is very little attended. You could practice diving in the palm, mask or snorkel, otherwise swimming and idleness. Beaten by the winds, the Sakalava Bay is well known to kitesurf lovers around the world. Finally, the bay of the pigeons and its beautiful stretches of sand are lined with abundant vegetation. We will continue the walk to Cape Minet, known for its lighthouse and its guns dating from the colonial era. From here you could admire a beautiful sunset and breathtaking views of Diego Bay. We will leave this excursion in the 3 bays by the camp of Orangea to join Ramena. Back to Diego.
DAY 12: THE EMERALD SEA
Transfer to Ramena to catch a boat, which will take us to the Emerald Sea. Get ready for an unforgettable beach day in this wonderful Emerald lagoon. Thanks to its good wind conditions, this place has become a rallying point for kitesurf world champions. It is shallow and very clear, which will allow you to swim in a natural aquarium populated with fish of different species, size and color. You will even be able to fish for the picnic lunch on the white sand beach. The weather will mark you too fast in this little corner of paradise. Transfer by boat to Ramena at 15:30. Return to Diégo Suarez. Night at the hotel.
DAY 13: DIEGO SUAREZ - ANTANANARIVO
Choice of flight to Antananarivo or road trip along National Roads 6 and 4.
